Each Wednesday, the children will check out a minimum of two AR books at their reading level. These books are to be read each night, several times, to the child, independently, or both. Everyday the library books need to be brought back to school in order to re-read and to take a quiz (a quiz cannot be administered if the book is not present). Therefore, it is imperative the books be brought to school daily. I will remind the children to put their AR books in their book bag each afternoon, but it is ultimately their responsibility.
We will test each child Tuesday morning with the help of a parent and an aid. It is also the child's responsibility to know which book they will be taking a quiz over. In the past, if there is a problem, parents have put sticky notes on the book that the child will take a quiz over.
As soon as I have a parent volunteer we will schedule the second AR quiz day.
